Olaf Holzapfel and Olaf E. Bergmann: Ecology of Construction, artist discussion - Saturday, October 7, 2017, 6 p.m., Projekt [51] e.V., Neustadt/Weinstraße // The ecology of construction will be discussed in the context of local building projects and Holzapfel’s artistic projects in Chile, taking into account the role played by the importation of framework from Europa to Patagonia, as well as the restoration of historical real estate.

In the context of local building projects carried out by public bodies in suburban regions, Olaf Holzapfel will discuss the ecology of construction in conversation with Olaf E. Bergmann, artist and chairman of Projekt [51] e.V. on Weinstraße in Neustadt. He will also present his artistic projects on native Chilean architecture and truss framework constructions imported from Europe to Patagonia. Comparisons of contemporary architecture and the restoration of historical real estate in south Germany’s rural regions will be discussed, in order to open up new perspectives on a globalized construction culture.
