Kunsthalle / On the Move

Peter Burr, Alone with the Moon, video installation - Monday, June 19, 2017, 7.30 p.m., Cinema Quadrat, Mannheim
// As part of the virtual-reality projection, the audience will receive information via their cell phones. The visual effect will be enhanced by modified 3D masks.

For his video installation Alone with the Moon, Peter Burr will stage three parallel projections in the auditorium of Cinema Quadrat. Each screen will display different signals from a central playback source. Three films will be adapted for the tri-channel projection: GREEN | RED, PATTERN LANGUAGE, and THE MESS. In addition, the audience will receive extra information via their cell phones. In order to enhance the visual effect, 3D masks (Google headsets) that have been modified by the artist will be distributed. The specially-created artistic glasses will be available for purchase after the show.
Peter Burr works with digital animation and so-called “patterns” in his videos. These patterns create high-contrast lighting effects and are accentuated by psychedelic electronic music.
