Intro
»All my bad thoughts« shows a human figure lying on the floor, its body in a sleeping bag with only the head visible, the face hidden by long hair. The entire figure is covered in a dark, liquid-like mass reminiscent of oil, lending the sculpture an abysmal, perhaps even nightmarish quality. On top of this, the plastic work appears to be in the process of breaking down—the human body dissolving into a dark pool, the solid becoming formless, life passing away.
Kristof Kintera is one of the most important contemporary artists in the Czech Republic. His multifaceted work combines Object and Media Art, installations and kinetic sculpture, as well as photography, graphic, and Street Art, with reality and illusion often fusing seamlessly. »All my bad thoughts« also displays this tendency. The similarity of the brown plastic to oil is deliberate. Derived from the transformation of organic materials, the fuel thus symbolizes the transition from life to death, with the color of the plastic highlighting an existential dimension.
